Roberta McCaughan is an hugely experienced Events Producer and Operations Manager. She was Assistant Festival Manager of the highly acclaimed arts and music festival Port Eliot (Cornwall), where her diverse responsibilities included curating several areas, managing production crew, overseeing accreditation and managing artist liaison. She has worked on numerous other large events and festivals including stage managing Malaysia Week on South Bank and working as Hospitality Manager for Yurtel, running large VIP areas at numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude, and Jamie Oliver’s Big Feastival.
For 3 years she was Operations Manager of the acclaimed West London stable of free thinking The Idler Academy, being responsible for the development and management of their courses and events programme. She is also a freelance curator for the multi-award winning Festival No.6, the UK’s Best New Festival. Outside of work Roberta has always been connected to music and performance, running a Community Choir, a ukulele group, and singing in a band.
She joined In Place of War (IPOW) as Global Operations and Logistics Manager in October 2015. In her first 6 months she has overseen IPOW’s visit to the township of Makokoba, and Shoko Hiphop Festival in Zimbabwe, arranged logistics for the IPOW Creative Entrepreneurial Programme (CEP) pilot, taking 21 people from across the Mena region to Alexandria, Egypt; and most recently planned and implemented a field visit to Palestine’s West bank.
