IN PLACE OF WAR WINS AWARD FOR ALBUM CUCUSONIC

We are over the moon to announce that In Place of War has won the Making A Difference Award at The University of Manchester, in the category of Outstanding Public & Community Engagement Initiative: National/International Engagement, for our album, Cucusonic.

Cucusonic raises public awareness of the biodiversity of Colombia and its importance globally by translating natural soundscape recordings and bioacoustic data into a new music album. The international music & bio-science collaboration set up a remotely organised network with diverse local communities to collect and record sounds and stories from the Colombian Neotropical forests, inviting high profile musicians to create tracks from the field recordings.

Made all the sweeter for finding out whilst we are here in Colombia showcasing the record at BIME PRO Congrats to everyone involved!

The Awards provide a platform to share some of the very best social responsibility activities from across the University of Manchester and celebrate the University’s and individual's contribution to wider society. The Awards help make a difference by driving change and inspiring others to act by sharing inspiring stories & projects to reach more people and make even more of an impact.
