Make art not war auction

 

In Place of War announces the launch of the inaugural Make Art Not War auction, boosting funds to support critical work.

London 31 October 2022 – Today we announce the launch of the art auction, Make Art Not War, on October 31st via The Auction Collective, to boost funds to support our work using music and the arts to bring positive social change to areas of conflict in 26 countries.

The auction is a curated collection of contemporary artworks celebrating the power of music and art for social change, raising critical funds to support In Place of War’s network of change-makers in conflict zones around the world. The change-maker network is made up of over 100 artists, creatives, activists and cultural leaders from 26 countries across Africa, South America, the Middle East and Europe, who are all working to conquer conflict with creativity and create lasting change in their local communities through art and culture. This collection has been curated by Aaron Shrimpton of New Waverley Studios and Hannah Ford of Mint Collective.

Make Art Not War will launch online on October 31st 2022 via The Auction Collective and close on November 17th at a private fundraising event hosted by In Place of War Fellow Brian Eno.

 In Place of War CEO, Ruth Daniel, says, “It’s so exciting to bring together these amazing artists around a shared mission of conquering conflict with creativity. The money raised from the sale of these incredible works will help support our change-makers to continue saving lives, using art as the mechanism to help communities design and realise a different, more positive future - it will support setting up new cultural spaces and emboldening change-makers with our creative entrepreneurial programmes.”
