Cultural Organisations Capacity Building Programme

This programme responds to the challenges for small and grassroots organisations around capacity building and recovery during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. It explores innovative strategies around survival for organisations and explores planning for sustainability. It includes a Train the Trainer element, so that subsequent cycles of the programme can be delivered by a local Trainer, and is certified by the University of Manchester.

Aims

  • To support grassroots cultural organisations to develop from start-ups to sustainable and resilient organisations.

  • To expose learners to diverse models and practices using live case studies from across the world.

  • To facilitate the development of critical thinking, life and business skills through the classroom activities and an ‘Organisational Planning Challenge’ - to develop a real-life multi-year strategic plan for their cultural organisation.

  • To connect cultural organisation community leaders with peers from In Place of War’s global network, through online workshops and talks and social media platforms to facilitate knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration.
