In 2022, In Place of War began a research project supported by the British Council to better understand the music scene in Myanmar, build networks and connect with Burmese musicians.

In partnership with Gitameit Music Institute - a non-profit community centre and music school based in Yangon devoted to music teaching, nurturing and performing - we worked with Archivo de Musica Original to create a 3-part workshop 'Developing a Music Archive”. The workshop sessions consisting of practical tasks, exploring the purpose and importance of archiving music, reflecting the history of Burmese people and their culture through music.
