Greetings from Lavender Hill, when the world first responded to Covid 19 it felt like armageddon. Bodies piling up in badly affected countries and empty streets out of fear and uncertainty.
For sure the worry and panic moved through the globe BUT humanity became open hearted, a giving spirit cancelled most of the fear as we had access to food and other basic needs to get us through this outbreak.
In Place of War pulled us through mentally know we have support and a network of people going through the very same challenges this very moment. Our different tongues was not a barrier but the inspiration, the sharing of ideas and just simply keeping the mind engaged with the matter on hand. Let's us beat COVID 19.
We shared cooking ideas and tried different ways to feed the hundreds. At some point it become mind over matter and it was fun. Fun because we had help, we were able to cook for our people. Fed and care for them, kept their immune system strong.
IPOW and the Kirsh Family helped us server close to if not more than 500 000 meals since the start of Lockdown. I then look back at these pics and think to myself how amazing we all are. Amazing because we gave help directly to the people on the ground removing all red tape.
We become horticulturists, gourmet chefs and started seeing how fragile we all are alone.
IPOW, For Starters and Kirsh Foundation we will never be able to say thank you.
Lavender Hill say thank you 🙏.
