“This piece took shape from my conversation with Matthew about the nature of sound (exhalation) and how the body and bones serve as vessels for the ‘wind’ to move through. The protagonist exhales a void that embodies the form of an impossible sound. I wanted to subtly nod to Matthew’s incredible, experimental album ‘The Horse’ by incorporating a silhouette of the horse-shaped totem from his album cover.”
