Change-Maker summit

In November 2020 we hosted our first ever In Place of War Change-Maker Summit,  a series of online talks, panels, workshops and music across November led by revolutionary artists and creative activists from our change-maker network across the world. Events were around the themes ‘Creativity in Times of Covid’, ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’, ‘Entrepreneurialism and Arts Based Activism’, and ‘The Power of Art and Culture to Create Social Change’.

With the help of Rory and Rose from Contact theatre we recruited 30 young creatives from Manchester to participate in the summit and as well as attending the sessions some of these young people also helped curate and lead parts of the programme.

The majority of the sessions were live streamed and open to all via Twitch and FB live, as well as being rebroadcast by major Braillian arts festival Sim Sao Paulo. You can watch back recordings of some of the sessions over on our In Place of War YouTube channel (add link)
